"It's Circus, it means what we want it to mean."

Any event involving motorcycle and rider in the direction of but that does not quite qualify as a crash.  Minor and or cosmetic damage to the motorcycle that does not impair operation of the motorcycle or rider.  Any injury to motorcycle or rider that requires first aid or mechanical assistance will be outside the realm of a biff.  However, the Biff Token will be awarded for both biffs and crashes.

Traditionally an item chosen from the junk store in New Pine Creek CA/Or that is displayed by the Circus member who has most recently put their motorcycle in the rest position.  The Biff Token Bearer may choose to continue bearing the token if they feel their bike needs more sleep.

Past tokens have included: "Stay Back 50ft." sign, Biff the Duck, and Squideyes.

Historically a detour taken during the 2021 OBDR excursion to avoid the Bootleg fire in SE Oregon.  This detour created situations that have been accepted by all in the Circus as having a bonding effect, to say the least.  Injuries to motorcycles, riders, and a phone were sustained.  This route has been commemorated by the founding members with a tattoo.

Colloquially the term bootleg is used to describe riding difficulty.  This includes, but is not limited to technical aspects of the trail or road, and the overall mental, physical and emotional toll of a particular section or day of riding.  It is often expressed as a percentage of the original Bootleg Route.

A philosophy based on the sound of a two-stroke engine under heavy throttle.  Along the lines of, "When in doubt, throttle out."  Often used as encouragement to others or oneself when facing a technically challenging section of terrain.

Formally known as Coors Banquet Beer this is an American lager brewed in Golden Colorado.  For reasons known only to the Universe it has become the beer of choice in Circus camp.

The coin issued to members of the Circus.  It is to be produced in person or online whenever a Coin Check is issued.  Loss of one's coin will result in the Ride of Penance.

"Failure is not an option - it is mandatory. The option is whether or not to let failure be the last thing you do."  

This is both motto and philosophy of the Circus.  It's source is known only to those of the deepest interest in online comics.

The standard discipline for loss of one's coin.  The RoP consists of the offending member visiting every other member to deliver an item of value, in a single trip.  The item to be delivered is agreed upon by all Circus members.

That which has happened or will happen.  An event that can be either beneficial or detrimental.  Typically used in past, present or future tense, " . . . according to The Prophecy."  Or "According to The Prophecy we shall . . . "
